"Music Mondays" with Sincere and We Want Him to "Come Closer!"

21-year-old Albert Brown from NY, better known as musician and producer Sincere has a dynamic blend of creativity, humor, a passion for music and a goal to succeed! He calls himself an artist because he is  not just an artist who can only sing, but also a writer and producer who's passion for music is like no other. His music mentor is Doug E Fresh who taught him the ups and downs about the music industry and how to represent himself as a musician. He did some openings for Fat Joe, Doug E Fresh and Elephant Man. Sincere was also featured on Concreteloop's website under New music: Hot or Not for his song "What I Been Waiting For." Vanessa Fleury got the chance to catch up Sincere for an interview and they chatted away about his passion for music, the groups he was in while growing up, his favorite artist and also his future goals. He also dropped off one of his hot songs "Come Closer!"

Vanessa:Your stage name is Sincere, how did that name come about?
Sincere: My stage name Sincere originated from Junior High School and it stuck with me ever since. My friends would say, " he's so sincere," because I was always honest and down to earth and my music represents that also!

V: So Sincere , when did you realize you had a passion for music?
S: At the age of ten I discovered my passion for music, singing, playing the piano and writing poems. I learned  this all from my dad and uncle, while watching them when they use to do their thing, Lol. But at first, I always had a passion for art and dance. As I got older I took singing more seriously and in Junior High School I asked two guys from my dance group (who could also sing) if they wanted to put together a  group. I went through three different singing groups. The first one was Final Destiny, then came New Era and lastly, RNB. After all of these trials, I decided to become a solo artist and  create music that I know people will grow to love!

V: I can see that you love music and you also want to please the crowd. Growing up, what artist did you listen to and who did you want to emulate?
S:During my childhood days,  I would listen to not just any 1 artist, but multiple artist and I emulated all of them, putting them together as one. I love The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson (of course) and last but not least,  the artist formally know as Prince. His creativity made me want to produce and write songs. Some newer artist I like and have a deep admiration for are, Beyonce-for her energy, Marsha (from the group Floetry)- for her singing style, Ne- Yo-for his writing, Usher-for his passion, Kanye West, Timberland, and Pharell (all these artist)-for their creativity with producing music, which I love to do. Doug E Fresh is the person who really showed me the ropes of the music industry. His son Slim from the Group Square Off brought me to meet his father Doug E Fresh, we made music and I became family to them in Harlem.

V: You listed alot of amazing artist that I also admire. Were you in any talent shows while in school? What was your best performance and why?
S:Yes I was in every talent show that they had in Junior High School and High School. If I heard they were having a talent show at school, I got to to the audition right away, with no hesitation. The best performance I did was when I was in my singing group New Era and we did a performance in NJ, it was so much fun. When they called our names one by one and everybody in the crowd was screaming loud, it felt like we were signed artist already. That was that day I said, " I'm gonna be somebody one day!"

V: It looks like you are getting your taste of stardom already, because I see you were featured on Concreteloop’s website under: New music: Hot or Not, for the song "What I Been Waiting For " which was written and produced by you, tell me about that song writing experience.
S:Wow, creating music writing with a pen on a pad is beautiful. It was natural for me to become a song writer because I would always write deep poems on my spare time till my hands fell off. Lol. So song writing came in perfect timing blending in with my singing, dancing and production.

V: What were the last three CD’s you purchased?
S: The last three Cd's I purchased were  Room 112 by 112, Confessions by Usher  and Graduation by Kanye West, which are my favorite albums of all time.

V: What 5 artist do you think have a solid career?
S: The top 5 artist in my book that I think have solid careers are definitely Will.I Am, Daft Punk, Beyonce, Ne-Yo and Kanye West. These are my starting 5 because they really paint the picture, like a true artist creating master pieces that you will remember forever.

8. Great choices! So the big question is, what are your future goals in the music industry?

S:See, everybody usually wants to make it in the music industry for the fame, but alot of them end up being 1 hit wonders.  In my case, I want to become one of the best musical creators out there, making nothing but feel good music. I want to  have a full time career as an artist, songwriter and producer. Music to me isn't a hobby at all, it's my life and I'm going to  do it and go harder than hard for music goals until the wheels fall off. I'm So Sincere : )
