Acting

So, my main goal in life is to be an actress! I just recently took some headshots; done by Rod Goodman. Came out nice! I also did some work as an extra in Queen Latifah's movie "Just Wright" and Jennifer Anniston's "The Bounty.
John Legend, Common, Queen Latifah, Dwyane Wade, Rashard Lewis were on the set of "Just Wright." I think the movie is going ro be great. I don't even know what it's about actually. LOL.

Welcome to my world...

Shakirah Ewell was born in Newark, NJ on July 22, 1986. With high aspirations in mind, her mother decided for the young Shakirah to broadcast her talent onstage by sending her to a few acting classes in New York City. Shakirah then appeared in a few acts and made an appearance in a hair magazine and textbook. As her acting career slowed down, Shakirah still kept herself busy in the entertainment industry. In 2002, Shakirah began working heavily with a new rap artist, Miss Nana, and a major Newark, NJ production team called Newark Illustrated assisting with promotion, events and concerts. Before graduating Marylawn of the Oranges- in South Orange, NJ- in 2004, Shakirah’s senior year was spent interning for Quest Community Vibrations 89.5 WSOU as an on-air announcer and producer.

Shakirah furthered her education in the Fall of 2004 at William Paterson University as a Communication major. She helped produce a game show, “Divide and Conquer” and was a crew member for her University’s live music show “Jammin TV.” During her senior year she become the Public Relations chair for William Paterson University’s N.A.A.C.P chapter and joined the Student Public Relations Association. Shakirah graduated from William Paterson in May of 2009 with a Bachelors degree. In 2006, she founded her own company called EnterMisses, short for Entertainment Misses, to aid young women who want make a mark in the entertainment industry. She worked with Schwartzman & Associates in Los Angeles, CA in May 2007 as a Media Relations intern for the Star Wars Celebration. Shakirah was also a consumer marketing intern for the MWW Group in New York City.
Shakirah has plans to pursue her career as a publicist, writer or an actress training at the NJ School of Dramatic Arts. On September 1, 2007, Shakirah appeared in the production work of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enough.” Recently she worked as an extra in the films “Just Wright” starring Queen Latifah and “The Bounty” starring Jennifer Anniston. Shakirah’s mother always knew she created a star. With her dedication to succeed in Hollywood, it is only a matter of time until we see a star in Hollywood that will bear Shakirah Ewell’s name.
